In 2025, photos and videos of 78335 began circulating on social media. Designated as J-20A, she represents the latest iteration of her kind.
Among the most noticeable changes is a darker RAM coating, giving her a distinctly different appearance from earlier J-20s, as well as upgraded avionics and sensor systems. Most importantly, she is equipped with the long-awaited WS-15 powerplants, widely regarded as the key to unlocking her full performance potential.
She is currently assigned to the 172nd Air Brigade, an elite unit responsible for operational testing, evaluation, and advanced training.
