Felon's Zip Up | Prototype Light Pixel
Born in 2012, 054 was the first prototype built with a mission-system configuration that closely resembled that of future production aircraft, marking a significant step forward from the earlier flying prototypes.
She is by far the most recognizable member of the Su-57 program, having appeared in numerous external weapons integration trials as well as major international airshows, including the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition and Aero India.
Despite her status as a prototype, she is frequently mistaken for a serial-production Su-57. As a result, observers often criticize her rather tattered appearance, unaware that her worn finish is largely a consequence of her role as a heavily utilized test aircraft. Unlike operational fighters, whose appearance is maintained to fleet standards.
