Born in 2004, 4024 began her career with the 43rd Fighter Squadron before transferring to the 27th Fighter Squadron, where she remains assigned today.
In 2024, during an aerial refueling operation involving aircraft from the 1st Fighter Wing, she was photographed wearing an unusual patchwork finish. Several panels displayed a distinctive bluish hue reminiscent of Raptor's early years, standing out against the aircraft's otherwise weathered appearance.
The reason for these mismatched panels remains unclear. They may simply reflect years of hard service and routine repairs, a temporary consequence of maintenance work, or perhaps the lingering scars of an incident never publicly disclosed. Whatever the explanation, the peculiar finish serves as a reminder that even the world's most advanced fighter is not immune to the passage of time.
